    Hardwood floors add value to your home and are a lifetime product. They are easy to maintain and come in a variety of species, allowing you to choose something to meet your needs. The Environmetal Protection Agency has said that hardwood floors help contribute to a healthy home environment. They do not harbor dust mites or molds. They also aid in the reduction of toxins that can accumulate in other types of flooring, as they area carried inside by people.

  1. How does moisture affect my hardwood flooring?
    Excessive moisture can lead to numerous changes to your floor, such as cuppping, buckling or cracking. Therefore, it is highly recommended that your do not use water to clean your floors. This is also why hardwood is not typically installed in bathrooms.

  2. What is the best way to clean my floors?
    The best way to maintain your floor is to sweep, dust mop and/or vacuum the floor regularly. Hardwood floor also clean easily with a Swiffer or similar type dry mop. You should avoid excessive moisture. A slightly damp mop with an appropriate cleaner (based on your finish type), will keep your floors looking great.

Hardwood Floor Installation
  1. Which rooms are best for hardwood flooring?
    Hardwood flooring is an extremely durable product. It can be installed in virtually any room of your home that is above ground. There are several locations that are not recommended for hardwood flooring. Because hardwood flooring is a natural product it is not recommended for wet locations such as bathrooms, washrooms, saunas, or anywhere that may require wet mopping. Extended exposure to moisture may cause your hardwood floor to crack, warp or swell. Please note that certain species are harder than others. We can help you select the appropriate species based on the traffic needs of your home.
